Clare Smyth

Chef at Core by Clare Smyth** (London, United Kingdom)

Although trained and raised for years alongside Gordon Ramsay, the chef from Northern Ireland now shines brightly at her London restaurant Core. Smyth was named Best Female Chef in 2018.

At the age of 15, she had already read Escoffier's manual twice and had enrolled in a cooking school without her parents' knowledge. Although she also got to know other kitchens such as Alain Ducasse's Louis XV restaurant, Clare Smyth (Antrim, Northern Ireland, 1978) rose to stardom alongside Gordon Ramsay by running his three-star Michelin restaurant in London, thus becoming the first three-star chef in the UK. At the helm of Core (London) since 2017, where she had already earned two stars, Smyth was named Best Female Chef in the World in 2018 by The World's 50 Best.

Among other achievements, the chef was responsible for preparing the wedding banquet for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, is a regular judge on Netflix's cooking show The Final Table and has taken part in MasterChef Australia. Amazing considering that, when she started working at Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant as a junior chef, she was told she would not last a week.
